Hello hello,

This week is my last free before I start the exciting new job, (which I hope I can handle.) and I’m spending tonight scouring the internet for keygen’s and other geeky necessities. Trying to track down a copy of filemaker pro, if anyone out there can help me!!

On top of that of course I have finally sunk my teeth into I Katamari. The PS2 game. It is another of my not-so-recently-released, recent discoveries. Like OKAMI, Katamari is a cult-classic gem and I ordered my copy tonight for a more reasonable price then JB-HI would offer.

Anyway this is Katamari –

I also found this display of cult love for the game.

My iPhone pic of the week.

Other cool discoveries this week are…

Ice Cream Bunny.

eBoy’s new LA cityscape. Zombies!!

Kozyndan’s new background to a future piece… VIEW HERE NOW!!!

And thats it for tonight!

NEW JOB!

Means I will finally have a little free money lying around! Which means that after i wipe my debts the new toys can start rolling in. That, and I can continue saving for my next visit to Japan in April next year. It’ll be kind of a celebration of my twenty first, and I would rather that then doing a yard glass…

So before all that, I’m excited about my new job! And to celebrate, I’m looking at toys to decorate my new desk!

I’m thinking a couple of these should do the trick!

To be Precise, The middle one, Jon Burgerman, and the right by Tado, Two of my favourite dunny decorators.

These are 8-incher’s and I’m sure will be hard to snatch up when they are released so I’ve done my best to put a pre-order in. Hopefully I can scab them bother for a reasonable price.

To fund that I’m thinking about selling my Golden ticket dunny.

It will look like this when I get it out of its little undistinguishable box:

Its Pretty, For sure, But the fact that its a three inch…

Aside from all that, I spent last night in an arcade with Sig and Roy. It was a lot like this:

All that AND me with my fish buddies in OSAKA.   ><ii>     l’-‘l   <ii><

More Toys and Trailers.

May 8, 2008

More Toys.

Not usually into Tokidoki. But this be@rbrick is great.

TMT 8th Be@rbrick.

AND along with these little treasures, I found THIS (http://www.whysoserious.com/happytrails/trailer.htm) yesterday.

This third trailer doesn’t quite have the mysterious, epic scale of the last two, it gives you a peek at Harvey Dent and the specifics of the story. Get the movie out already will ya.

Lastly, here is Ilai and me, seperatly:

The Stuff I Like

May 6, 2008

Its staggering how many quality designer toys are released consistantly. Without browsing too far, I managed to find two great pieces.

The first is in celebration of the looming Dark Knight movie. They don’t stick too close to the film itself but are rather iconic of the Batman series, I like them.

The colours on both are such cool combinations.

The second toy is Amanda Vesell’s Underwater Carnivorous Giraffe resin.

Looks Great.

Both discoveries are curtsy of Vinylpulse.com the perfect site for the occasional toy fix. Check it out.

Season 10

May 6, 2008

So me and Fran are back –

Back to old – and new – jobs, back to the ever unpredictable weather and constant roadworks of Auckland. Its comforting really; that nothing has changed.

I jumped straight back onto Underworld to gather up a bit of money to get back on my feet before, hopefully getting back to Uni next semester. That’s the plan.

Fran’s got a new job with the same people that shes loving, up at Wall Fabrics. Employment/Money-wise things kind of just clicked back into place for both me and Fran which is good because I did get back with a few too many Duty Free purchases.

Before anything else I’m going to finish up on how the rest of the trip went. All the details and days that got lost in the absence of decent cyber-cafes in USA.

Just to get you back in the Zone, THIS is Japan.

Shinkansen Travel is unphotographical.

I whipped my camera out just quick enough to snap this mother of all mountains. Fuji SAN

Travel to Osaka was a little edgy for the both of us, we were out of our element.

Here we are in Hiroshima Peace Park.

AND my new plan is to get back to Japan next year at the end of winter but further into spring when we will there for the cherry blossom magic.

We loved it this much!

I guess I’ll occasionally upload more photos from the rest of our trip but i have found my motivation waining.  I think its time to move on to new interests.

Here we have the beautiful Okami. My newest game crush.

A Newish series of rad key rings.

And an amazing animated short by James Jean. Its an advert for Prada.

That will be all.

End of the line…

March 2, 2008

Alright.

So I haven’t been posting many if any pictures while in America, simply because of the lack of computer time, cyber cafes and space on my Flickr account. But tommorow morning (Sunday for us) we leave LA to jet back to Japan, sadly only for about an hour and half…errrr lame. Then we jump back onto a plane to head over to christchurch. and then back up to Auckland. phew 29 hours after leaving we arrive Auckland international at 12:35pm on Tuesday. (NZ time)

And once I have time and a comp, ill load up the remaining 1900 photos sitting on my mem card. couple of epic events, celebrity appearances and The Ivy have all happened since my last post – lots – but ill leave you with my intense adventures in outer space.

peace

Hustlers Grab Your Guns – Shadow Weighs a Ton

February 20, 2008

Hello!

Photos are finally here! None of our infamous travels on this guy:

 The Shinkansen

Nup, I’ve loaded up a bunch of what we have been up to over the last four or five days in San Francisco.

Were we involved with the Nazi’s?? Really?

After coming through the rather strange customs process, we hit San Fran:

We have been pretty busy walking all around San Anselmo, the area that my uncles Inn is in. We also took the ferry to the city a couple of times and yesterday went on a drive over to Berkley. Great place! Its full with activism and character, I could even tell that from the small afternoon spent there.

Here are a couple of pictures from our second evening in San Fran, when we went up to headlands above the bridge.

Amazingly clear sunset up there…

Franny and the Harbour

The Gang up on the hill, Peter and Kate wern’t around

Long way from Japan

And then there was the city…

Finally in the city, it took me a few days to get out of bed.

On Pier 1. Nice.

Definitly in California now…

Seals at Fishermans Wharf

ChinaTown

San Fran Architechture

Chinatown

Dangerous.

And thats us in the big city over the last week. Its been cool to see such a contrast of Japan. More on both those places sooooooooooonaaaaaaaaaasssssss!!!

The Taxi we caught home yesterday was the taxi used in Friends (Pheobes Taxi) STARSTRUCK!

And Finally Birkleys Drug Free Zone

Arrrrrgh!

February 16, 2008

San Fran.

Wicked city, we finally made it into the city itself and are in a nice coffee cafe in Haight Street right now. I’m begining to look unzombie-like again as the flight from Japan to USA caused me to catch a horrible vacation tainting cold. But its sunny and nice and warm, 15-20 Degrees.

Unfortunatly cybercafes here have no USB access so no photos once again, I’m hoping to track down SOMEWHERE to upload photos SOMETIME in the next MILLION years.

in the mean time im about to head to the KidRobot store – eeeep! – its a store filled with the coolest designer toys ever, later this week a new Dunny series is released which will also be exciting. Franny is loving San Fran, especially the architechture (forgive my spelling!!) its really great, and desipte the fact that nobody is really friendly, everyone is helpful. Which is nice,

Anyway my 20min timelimit is rounding up, photos next time I hope! Kyoto, Osaka and the Shinkansen, not to mention USA are all piling up.

Love

Max and Fran

Sayonara!!

February 13, 2008

Me and Fran are Outtie!

At the airport, through our security screening, and waiting for the time to tick away until we leave Japan.

Stink!

but later today – or early today – (We leave Japan at 3:45pm and arrive in Cali at 7am on the same day…eeeeek) we will be in glorious 15+Degree weather, with people who understand us and the KidRobot megastore. yeow.

The Kiosk I’m at doesnt have usb so no photos in this blog, but im sure USA will give me plenty of free time to update all the photos from the last week and a half.

Saying goodbye to Japan via Narita Airport,

Max and Fran
